Comprehensive Car Insurance offers the widest coverage for your car. It safeguards your vehicle against many risks, including damage from accidents, natural disasters like storms or floods, as well as theft, hijacking and loss. It also includes third-party coverage.
Third-Party, Fire and Theft Car Insurance covers damage caused to third parties, like other vehicles or property, in an accident where you're at fault. Additionally, it protects against loss or damage to your vehicle due to fire or theft. Unlike comprehensive insurance, it doesn't cover other types of damage to your own vehicle, such as car accidents. This option offers a balance between cost and coverage as it protects against significant risks like theft and fire.
If your car is valued at under R250,000, Budget Lite cover could be right for you.
Budget Lite offers three affordable options for vehicles in the lower price bracket. Budget Lite 1 provides cover for stolen or hijacked vehicles. You will be covered for up to R1 million in third-party cover. Budget Lite 2 insures your car if it’s written off after an accident, covers up to R1 million for third-party damage, and theft and hail damage cover. The Accident Assist benefit, which includes towing and storing your car after an accident, is included. Budget Lite 3 covers your car if it’s written off after an accident, up to R1 million third-party cover, theft and hail damage insurance, and limited accident cover. Accident Assist is included.
Don’t get caught by unexpected repair costs. Our Motor Warranty offers protection beyond the manufacturer's warranty period. It covers repairing or replacing vehicle components that fail due to mechanical or electrical failure. Keep your car running smoothly and avoid breakdown and repair costs. We offer two vehicle warranty options: Auto Plan and Auto Drive Warranty. If your vehicle is under three years old and has done less than 120,000km, Auto Plan could be the right option for you, while Auto Drive is recommended for vehicles under seven years old and under 250,000km.

Absolutely amazing service! Thank you to Eugene who helped the morning of the accident. Our claim was handled in record time, and you phoned exactly when you said you would. Thank you Budget. All your people are gems.

Excess or deductible
This is the amount you pay for an insurance claim before your insurance coverage kicks in. For instance, if you were involved in a car accident, the excess is payable upfront to the service provider, like a panel beater, regardless of who is responsible for the accident. Your excess will vary depending on policy terms and coverage levels.
Write-off
If your car is written off after a car accident, it means the cost of repairing the damaged vehicle exceeds its current market value. In such cases, the insurer declares the vehicle a total loss and reimburses the policyholder for its pre-accident value minus any deductible and salvage value.
Third-party claim
Refers to a claim made by someone other than the policyholder against the policyholder’s insurance coverage. It typically involves compensation for damages or injuries caused by the policyholder's actions, such as a car accident where the policyholder is deemed to be at fault.
Premium
This is the amount of money the policyholder will pay to an insurance company in exchange for insurance coverage. It is paid on a monthly or annual basis and is based on various risk factors, coverage levels, and the type of insurance policy.
